Fabulous piece! This box is a great gift for the executive, the box collector or anyone who appreciates quality. It was appraised at $2,500. Business men at the turn of the century used these when traveling, especially on steamer ships and trains. It is dark burlwood with brass edges with a brass nameplate that was never engraved - ready for your name! The box opens up to reveal a green felt covered writing surface, interior storage for papers/writing materials and a very generous well for pens. It has two wooden inkwells in great shape. Very unusual and beautiful!
